The Torch Festival

    Introduction

The Torch Festival, with profound cultural connotations, is a traditional festival of the Yi, Bai, Naxi, Jinuo, Lahu, and other national minorities. The formation of the customs and legends of the Torch Festival is directly related to the original worship of the Yi people, especially the belief in the fire.

Due to the long-term diachronic development and regional evolution, the cultural connotation presented by the Torch Festival cannot be a single form in the early time, but a more complex form, including various activities, such as religion, belief, ethics, singing, and dancing.
